Work

Vice President, Investment Management at Goodman, and Fund Manager for GNAP and GUSV, our North America industrial funds. Portfolio strategy, investment decisions, investors and capital. Trying to figure out data centers.

Speaking

I gave two talks this spring. One was on AI and careers for NAIOP’s young professionals. The other was for Grace at Work, on being a Christian at work without anyone knowing. Next up is the USC MRED Brown Bag on 21 October. The rest are on Talks.

Family

Husband and father of five, in Newport Beach. The kids keep getting bigger and life keeps getting more fun. Lots of mountain biking, and kids in musicals. We got to see Muse and Goose this summer.

Getting ready for ski season in Utah. Ripping up the backyard to build a pool for next summer. On Sunday nights we have a weekly home group at our house, and I’m grateful for the gospel-centered community there.

Side projects

• Rebuilding this site. It now runs on my own brand, and I’m bringing old projects back from the archive the way they looked when I made them.
• Turning the talks into essays, starting with AI and careers.
• Asking the same LinkedIn cap rate question every month, as I have since June 2023.

• Power as the new land: what data centers, reshoring and the grid mean for industrial demand.
• AI and the existential risk to careers. AI can do the analysis now, so context and data are the moat. Relationships and judgment are harder to copy.
• Phones, apps, content and kids. How strict to be, and how that changes as they get older.
• Faith at work, and what it looks like when people can see it.
